ClearMind Learning in Schools

ClearMind Learning provides specialist, child-centred support for pupils who experience difficulties with reading, spelling and literacy.

I work alongside schools, teachers and SENCOs to help identify barriers to learning, provide targeted intervention and develop practical next steps that support both progress and confidence.

As a British Dyslexia Association Accredited Teacher, my approach is structured, evidence-informed and responsive to the individual child.

Targeted 1:1 or small-group support can be provided for pupils who need additional help with areas such as:

• phonological awareness
• decoding and reading accuracy
• spelling
• reading fluency
• literacy confidence and independence

Support is based on the pupil’s individual profile and current stage of development rather than simply their age or year group.

Dyslexia screening can help schools and families build a clearer picture of a pupil’s strengths and areas of difficulty.

Screening is followed by clear feedback and practical recommendations that can help inform intervention, classroom support and decisions about whether further assessment may be appropriate.

Where appropriate, I can also work with school staff to explore concerns around an individual pupil.

This may include:

• observation
• discussion with relevant staff
• consideration of current provision
• practical strategies and recommendations
• identifying appropriate next steps

The aim is not to replace the expertise already within school, but to add specialist dyslexia and literacy knowledge where it may be helpful.

Support can be arranged for an individual pupil, a short block of intervention or as part of longer-term provision.

Where possible, I work collaboratively with staff so that strategies used during specialist sessions can be reinforced within the classroom and shared with families.
